Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Question
I need to burn an "iso" image. What is it and how do I burn it.

An "iso" image is a special file that is like a photocopy of an installation disc structure in a special way so that it can be burnt to a CD/DVD and when placed in a CD/DVD reader, will act like the original, "Auto Play" and perform the installation.
To be able to "Burn" iso images or any other kind of data, your computer need to be fitted with a DVD or CD Writer.  DVD Writer's can burn CD's as well as DVD's.

Answer (XP - Vista)

XP and Vista require special burning software that is capable of burning iso's.  If you have any version of Nero, this comes with a function that burns iso images. Nero is often supplied with DVD Writer if  one is fitted to your computer otherwise can be purchased (Click here),
Also there are a number of free iso burners available. such as Image Burn

Answer (Windows 7)

Windows 7 comes with image burning software. To use, locate the iso you want to burn, double click on it and Windows 7 will recognise what you want to do and open a wizard to do the burning for you.
Image Burn will also work with Windows 7.
